Google have made their handwriting service available to UK users, if you open up Google on your iPad/ Android Tablet of smart phone chances are you will now also see the “Try Handwriting” feature that our friends over the pond have had since July…

You can view more on the official Google Handwrite page – http://www.google.co.uk/insidesearch/features/search/handwritinginput/mobile.html

To get started you simply tap the handwriting symbol in the bottom right of the screen and start scribbling away, after a moments pause the writing will pop into the Google search box, translate correctly (It never ever goes wrong) and bring you back exactly what you are looking for… sometimes. I have found you need to be one of two extremes, either write slowly and it will populate one charater at a time, or write fast and clear enough to get the whole word in at once. either way this is fantastic for quick word searches without having to get the keyboard out all the time.
